Lotus
Indian Ringneck
Lotus came to PDS with splayed legs and has spinal issues that affect his mobility and feathers. Despite his physical challenges, Lotus can fly, loves to forage, and lives a full and active life at the sanctuary. But one of the most important things in Lotus's world is Subhaan—he absolutely loves him.
Bhodi
Indian Ringneck
Bhodi has splayed legs and is also an amputee, but his physical challenges certainly don't define him. He is one of the sweetest boys at PDS and has a gentle personality that makes him incredibly easy to love. And if you really want to win Bhodi over, walnuts are the way to his heart.
Sweeti
Sweeti came to PDS as a surrender during COVID and quickly made it very clear who her person was. She loves Monika, is incredibly cuddly with her, and has a very sweet side, but don't let the name fool you. Sweeti is also known for her hissing and isn't shy about telling you exactly how she feels.
Sky is Subhaan’s roommate, and somewhere along the way, the two became best friends. They are so attached that they demand to sleep together in the same cage. Sky is also quite the talker and always seems to have something to say.
Buddy
Buddy was rescued from downtown Los Angeles, where she was living crowded in a small cage. She has faced ongoing medical issues throughout his life, but at PDS he has been able to receive the care, space, and attention he needs. Buddy is a little fighter and very much a part of the PDS family.
Heath
Heath was rescued from downtown Los Angeles, where she was living in a small cage and was very scared. With time, space, and a safe place to call home, her personality began to come out. Today, Heath is active, curious, and always on the move, a very different bird from the frightened little parrot who first arrived at PDS.
Krishna
Eclectus Parrot
Krishna is a beautiful male Eclectus with an independent personality, but he certainly has a soft side—he loves his cuddles. He has also found a special companion in Pari, and the feeling is mutual. The two have fallen in love and make a very sweet pair at PDS.
Radha came to PDS as a rescue with plucked feathers, but that doesn't take away from how beautiful she is. She has gorgeous maroon coloring and the sweetest little voice. Radha loves her fresh foods, with one very clear exception: absolutely no apples, please.
Noah
Noah came to PDS severely plucked, with no tail or wing feathers. He would pick at his blood feathers so badly that he would bleed, and medical challenges have continued to be part of his life. Noah has needed a lot of extra care over the years, but through everything, he remains a very special part of the PDS family.
Ram is a gentle, playful boy who knows exactly how to get what he wants. He loves to beg for just about anything and isn't afraid to turn on the charm when he sees something he wants. His sweet personality and playful nature make him an easy bird to love.
Lakhan may be the smallest Eclectus at PDS, but he has one of the biggest personalities. Feisty and fearless, he's perfectly willing to pick a fight with just about anyone. But when Lakhan decides to turn on the charm, he can also be the tiniest, sweetest, most adorable little Eclectus.
Bella is a typical feisty redhead with plenty of attitude and personality. She is plucked, but that certainly doesn't stop her from being Bella. And when pomegranates are around, she is especially happy—they're one of her favorites.
Kismet
Kismet is a gentle Eclectus with the sweetest personality. He’s especially known for the adorable little sad face he makes, one look at him and it’s very hard not to give him exactly what he wants.
Yoshi is a gentle, docile boy who loves having the freedom to fly and explore. He’s also a big fan of his toys, especially when he can settle in and chew them to pieces.
Pari
Pari spent much of her earlier life as a breeder bird, and when she was no longer wanted, she came to PDS. Now, at over 40 years old, she gets to enjoy life on her own terms. She loves pomegranates, fresh foods, and, most importantly, Krishna, she has completely fallen in love with him.
Coco
Coco has completely fallen in love with PDS Dad and would happily follow him around all day if he could. Other birds? He could do without them. Yoshi prefers his favorite human, and makes his feelings known by saying “I love you” in his wonderfully dramatic opera voice.
Subhaan
Subhaan may just be the sweetest Eclectus at PDS. He loves passion fruit and has such a gentle nature that even the Indian Ringnecks adore him. He never bites them, happily lets them hang around, and will even let them eat first. It’s easy to see why Sky and Lotus love him so much.
Angelino
Angelino is a brat, and he would probably be proud of that description. He’s loud, a little bitey, and has plenty of attitude packed into one bird. Life with Angelino is rarely quiet, but his big personality is exactly what makes him Angelino.
Angel
Angel might be the moodiest bird at PDS. One second you're his best friend, and the next you're his worst enemy. You never quite know which Angel you're going to get. We seriously think he must have been an Amazon parrot in a past life, he certainly has the attitude for it.
Charlie
Red-Lored Amazon
Charlie came to PDS after years of being offered junk food had taken a toll on his health, contributing to fatty tissue and liver problems. He loves Monika but doesn't have much patience for everyone else, with two exceptions: Lakhan and Ram. He loves the boys and even lets them hang out in his cage with him. Charlie is a full-on Amazon: sweet one moment, moody the next, and always packed with personality.
Peacock
Fakir is our resident peacock and brings something a little different to the PDS flock. Now around 15 years old, he is a very docile boy with beautiful purple and blue coloring. Calm and gentle, Fakir has been part of the sanctuary family for many years.
Laila
Female Peacock
Laila is a beautiful female peacock who fell in love with Fakir and decided he was her guy. But Laila isn't just a pretty face, she is incredibly smart and always seems to be one step ahead. This girl has wits, and she definitely knows how to use them.
