Sweet Potato Recipe for Birds: Boosting Vitamin A the Natural Way

We all want our pet birds to get the nutrients they need to thrive, and vitamin A is one of the most important. Parrots need plenty of vitamin A to support their immune system, skin, and feather health. When I was researching for my article on vitamin A deficiency in parrots, I discovered that parrots require as much vitamin A daily as humans do—making fresh, colorful foods essential.

Orange vegetables like sweet potato, carrot, and pumpkin are excellent sources of beta carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. This simple sweet potato recipe is a favorite in my flock, and it’s both delicious and highly nutritious.
